Pray Give or Go (for 40 minutes)
You don’t have to look very far to see a big mission field right here in our area. In fact, we have wonderful educators at CFC who talk about how big of a mission field the public schools have become. We are so thankful for godly teachers and administrators who are a part of our church, and we need to be praying for them in their calling!
Did you know that Weekday Christian Education has been at the public elementary schools in Evansville for 82 years? We need them now more than ever, and yet they find themselves in a very hard season, both financially and for finding volunteers. We have met with their leadership and offered help, but we also want to help them raise awareness by having you read and pray through this eNews.
Below is a letter that can help you understand who they are, what they do, and who to contact if you want to be a blessing to this organization.
We wonder how many from CFC could give 40 mins a week to share the Gospel with some amazing kids who are made in the image of God. What a privilege it would be! We hope you read their letter, and we can't wait to worship with you this weekend!
Dear CFC,
Have you heard of Weekday Christian Education? This ministry is unique in that it provides the only legal means by which Christian education is allowed during public school hours. “Released Time” classes reach children who might otherwise never enter a church.
Weekday Christian Education has four portable classroom trailers, and we visit all 22 EVSC elementary schools and Joshua Academy once a week during the school year. Third and fourth grade students are invited to attend our program.
We have the wonderful opportunity to share the Gospel with children in our public schools. We want to ask for your help reaching nearly 800 children every week when school starts in the fall. I am honored and thankful to be able to invite you to join us in helping children discover a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. There are three ways in which you can partner with us:
Prayer – Please pray that the children attending Weekday Christian Education will have open hearts and minds to hear the Gospel.
Join our team – We are looking for Christians who love Jesus and want children to have the opportunity to know Him. We are looking for individuals to teach or assist in our 40-minute classes at each EVSC elementary school. You can commit to one or multiple schools as your schedule permits. No need to worry about how or what to teach; we provide training and the curriculum.
Financial support – Being a non-profit ministry, we are responsible for raising our own funding. All donations, 100%, remain local and keep Christian Education in our schools.
Weekday Christian Education has taught the love of Jesus to children in our community for 82 years. Thousands of adults have a relationship with Jesus today because they attended Weekday as a child. Would you prayerfully consider joining us as we strive to bring the Word of God to the children of Vanderburgh County?
Please feel free to send financial contributions to: Weekday Christian Education, 2001 Bayard Park Dr, Evansville, IN 47714 or through our website at weekdayevansville.com. All other inquiries can be made to Brittney Casebolt, Administrative Director, at 812-425-3524.
