God Was Glorified through our Students

During the EVSC Spring Break, our High School Ministry took their annual mission trip to the Dominican Republic. This year, the team consisted of 17 students and 5 leaders. Over the years, God has used this trip to open high school students' minds to experientially seeing God's heart for the nations. This year was no different.

The team was able to attend a church service in the city of Santo Domingo, a church that is a very similar makeup to CFC. The experience was powerful, as students and leaders alike both worshiped Jesus in the midst of a different culture.

For the rest of the week, our team moved into a more poverty-stricken part of the Dominican Republic, the village of La Cola, where we have worked for several years. While the team was in La Cola, they went on home visits to encourage believers and also share the hope of Christ with those who don't know Jesus. It was evident that God had prepared the hearts of the team through those lifting the team up in prayer. There were many transformational conversations during the home visits and many "God moments." For example, in one home visit, a group from our team visited a lady who didn't know they were visiting and "happened" to be wearing a Center Grove, IN t-shirt!

Prior to arriving in the community, La Cola experienced the tragic death of a 5-year-old boy in a car crash. Our team visited with both the mom of the boy, as well as the one who was driving, and the team was able to share the hope of Christ. They were fully reliant upon God in this conversation, as there aren't sufficient words for a tragedy like that.

Each night, our team debriefed, and many students made comments about seeing God on a global scale and how this trip would impact the way they live back home.

Ultimately, God was glorified in this trip, and all those involved were impacted significantly. Praise God!

If you want to hear how God worked in and through our students, they are reporting this Sunday evening, April 6, at 6PM in Room 106. You are welcome to come and hear how God used them and molded them more into His image.

We hope to worship with you Sunday! Have a wonderful weekend!
