Now you are the body of Christ and individual members of it.
1 Corinthians 12:27
After much time and consideration, CFC’s leadership team and elders have decided to change the way we do membership here at CFC. Much of this comes down to a desire to better know who our leaders are accountable for, to help our members better understand their role in the church, and to better serve our members.
The Membership Process
1. Intro to CFC Class
2. Membership Class
3. Meet with a staff member or elder
The first step is the Intro to CFC Class. It will be a prerequisite for membership. Once a person has completed the Intro to CFC Class, they will be eligible to attend the formal Membership Class. The Membership Class is a one-time class, lasting two and a half hours, that will be held right after the 10:45AM service. Lunch and childcare will be provided.
Both the Intro to CFC and Membership classes will be offered several times a year. After someone has completed the Membership Class, they will need to schedule a time to meet with a staff member or elder, sign the Membership Covenant, and be approved by a plurality of church leadership.

FAQ
What if I want to attend a Membership Class, and I have not yet attended Intro to CFC?
Please wait to attend Intro to CFC before registering for the Membership Class. In Membership, we will build on information communicated in Intro to CFC.
Is childcare available?
For Intro to CFC, you may keep your children in Children’s Ministry classes for an extra service (please note this as you register them for Children’s Ministry) for the classes offered during our 9:15 and 10:45AM services. Childcare is not available during the 4:15PM class. For Membership class, we will have childcare available.
Why do I need to attend these classes to become a member?
We take church membership seriously, and we want to be sure that every member understands what CFC is about, our doctrinal positions, what is expected of members, and what members can expect from us as well.
Can I serve at CFC if I am not a member?
While there are always ministry areas where a non-member can serve, there are areas of ministry service that will require membership. We have a 12-month grace period for serving in the required membership areas, but non-members must sign and adhere to the CFC Doctrinal Statement and have plans to attend one of the upcoming Intro to CFC classes and a Membership Class.
