Magnify God
The Bible reveals our Creator, who is both magnificent in power and yet intimately personal.
John 1:1-3
1 In the beginning the Word already existed.
The Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
2 He existed in the beginning with God.
3 God created everything through him,
and nothing was created except through him.
Isaiah 40:12
Who else has held the oceans in his hand?
Who has measured off the heavens with his fingers?
Who else knows the weight of the earth
or has weighed the mountains and hills on a scale?
Mark 10:13-16
13 One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. 14 When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples. He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. 15 I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” 16 Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.
The same hands that measure the breadth of the universe safely embrace a child.
Psalm 19:1
The heavens proclaim the glory of God.
The skies display his craftsmanship.
Revelation 4:11
“You are worthy, O Lord our God,
to receive glory and honor and power.
For you created all things,
and they exist because you created what you pleased.”
Magnifying God means recognizing both His majesty and His nearness.
Mark 10:14b
"Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children."
How do we magnify a God who needs no magnification?
Never cease to wonder and be amazed.
Remember what it was like to be a kid.
Magnify God by looking for the overlooked.
The more the life of Jesus fills our lives, the more magnified He becomes to the world.
