Study Questions for March 23, 2025

Read Mark 10

Get more acquainted with Mark's method of telling his gospel account.

Take some time to outline the chapter by giving each passage a subject line with verse references. List the questions asked and the requests made that are mentioned in each passage.

In 10:1-12, what is the main point of the passage? Is it divorce or something else? What does this say about the Pharisees?

10:13-16 parallels 9:33-37. Compare and contrast the two accounts. What is the lesson for us here?

In 10:17-31, what is fundamentally wrong with the rich man’s question?  In what way does Jesus address his fundamental error about the kingdom of God? How are the disciples like the rich man?

How does 10:35-37 sit with you in light of what Jesus says in 10:32-34?  What should be our posture for greatness?

How does 10:46-52 compare with 10:1-12?  Notice how Mark is contrasting blindness here. What is the lesson here for us?
