Thank You to our Veterans

Veterans Day is observed this coming Tuesday, and we wanted to take a moment to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the men and women at CFC who have served or currently serve our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and steadfast service reflect the biblical virtues of honor, selflessness, and protection of others. May God bless every veteran at CFC, and may He grant them peace and restoration.

If you are a veteran and are looking for community, please look no further than the CFC Veteran Ministry. The CFC Veteran Ministry’s mission is to glorify God by making disciples of ministry participants from both CFC and our local community. The CFC Veteran Ministry does this by presenting opportunities to strengthen an individual’s relationship with God, as well as providing opportunities to encourage healing from the impacts of military service.

How does the CFC Veteran Ministry embody its mission? The ministry’s volunteers, both military and nonmilitary, participate in various Christ-centered activities that include:

  • Monthly CFC Veteran Ministry fellowship and coffee events held between church services
  • Small group Bible study for veterans, service members, and their adult loved ones
  • Monthly Connections Breakfast fellowship events at a local restaurant
  • REBOOT courses that help people overcome trauma through their faith-based, peer-led classes
  • Vanderburgh County Veteran’s Treatment Court and Mentor Program (Vet Court)
  • RightNow Media resources for military personnel and their families available at: https://courses.onlinecfc.com/veterans-resources
  • Various team-based activities to support Christ-centered outreach that encourages fellowship and trusting relationships
  • Veteran appreciation events, such as a periodic dinner for CFC Veterans and support to Veterans on the bi-annual Honor Flight of Southern Indiana trips
  • Outreach and mentorship to service members and their loved ones when the service member is deployed
  • Collaborations and partnerships with national and community military groups and other CFC ministries to accomplish the CFC Veteran Ministry mission
  • In summary, the overarching vision of the CFC Veteran Ministry is to be a key force for Christian discipleship focused on the local Tri-State area military community.

We are so thankful for our Veteran Ministry and also for you! We look forward to being with you Sunday!
