Marriage Matters to God
At CFC, we believe that marriage matters to God. It is important to God because He instituted it for us to flourish and to point us to Him (Genesis 2 and Ephesians 5).
We recognize that getting two redeemed sinners together to carry out God’s plan and purpose for marriage can be difficult. Significant selfishness, sinfulness, and wounding can and often does occur (Genesis 3). Sometimes, we don’t know if we will be able to forgive. Other times, we don’t know if we will be able to change so that we don’t hurt our spouse again. There are moments in most marriages when problems seem overwhelming, and you struggle to get on the same page.
We are here to help so that you do not have to stay stuck in these realities. God desires more for you and your marriage than learning to live in these realities and remaining miserable. Rather, He wants to redeem, reconcile, and transform you and your marriage.
We recently launched a ministry at CFC called Marriage Matters. The purpose of this ministry is to provide intensive care to help couples reach restoration. There is no shame in reaching out for help. You are by no means alone if you are reading this and think you could benefit from a ministry like this. There are already a dozen couples who have benefited from or are actively benefiting from this ministry. Below are some thoughts from two different couples who are living in restored and redeemed marriages now and are no longer in need of the Marriage Matters Ministry.
“There are moments in some marriages when it feels like the challenges are insurmountable, and it seems like the relationship could be headed for destruction. We were in that place, so we turned to the church for guidance. It was incredibly reassuring to receive an unbiased perspective rooted in faith, which helped redirect the course of our marriage. Through months of counseling, we've gained a deeper understanding of God's true vision for our relationship. We are so grateful for the support we've received."

"We came to Marriage Matters with a marriage in crisis -- one that was not honoring God, and we knew it. He brought us into a safe place to surrender our issues and, with Reid's guidance in the Word, redeem our commitment to Him and to one another. Seeking God's guidance through faith-based counsel is the best thing you will ever do for your marriage and your family. It was for us."

Whether you need this ministry directly or not, we invite you to pray for all marriages in our congregation. Pray that healthy marriages would remain so and that couples in need of some assistance with improving their marriage would reach out for help.
Thanks for partnering with us in prayer! We look forward to worshiping with you this weekend!
