CFC Sidekicks Impact Lives
Hello, Church Family! We have a ministry at CFC that we are very thankful for, and we’re now looking for more people to serve within it. As our Specific Needs Ministry continues to grow and impact lives, we are excited to extend an invitation for new volunteers to join our dedicated team of Sidekicks. Inspired by Luke 18:16, where Jesus welcomes the children with open arms, we believe in serving and honoring all the children who bear the image of God, regardless of their unique needs or challenges.
At CFC, Sidekicks work with children who may have varying diagnoses, including anxiety, autism, Down Syndrome, and more. Our mission is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where every child can experience the love and acceptance of Christ through dedicated volunteers.
Volunteers play a vital role in this ministry and undergo a one-hour training orientation. This training equips volunteers with the tools and knowledge they need to provide meaningful support to their assigned child. Following that training, Sidekicks are paired with a child. Our Specific Needs coordinators remain engaged for additional child-specific training until each volunteer feels confident and comfortable in their role.
We are seeking individuals who are dedicated, responsible, and passionate about serving children with specific needs. Our volunteers typically commit to serving weekly or every other week during the 9:15 service.
One of our parents, reflecting on their experience, shared the profound impact Sidekicks has had on their family. For Hattie, having a Sidekick meant being able to join her age-appropriate Sunday School class, despite not being potty-trained at the time. It allowed her to interact with her peers and experience activities that she could share with her family later on. The feedback provided by the Sidekick volunteers is invaluable. It offers parents like Hattie's peace of mind and reassurance.
If you feel called to use your gifts and heart to serve as a Sidekick volunteer, we encourage you to reach out. Text "SIDEKICK" to 812-867-6464 for more information and to register for an upcoming training session. Your commitment will make a significant difference in the lives of these children and their families.
We also want to ask you to pray for Rachel, Heidi, and Kyle, who have served as dedicated lay-leaders within our Sidekicks ministry. Their commitment and passion have elevated the voices of these children and provided steady support to their families. Rachel, Heidi, and Kyle have played active roles in the success stories that we celebrate within this ministry. Please join us in praying that God will raise up more Sidekick volunteers to meet the growing needs of the children and families He is drawing into our community. Together, through prayer and action, we can continue to make a profound difference in the lives of all of our CFC Kids.
We would love for you to check out THIS VIDEO to hear from these leaders and Hattie’s mom. We can’t wait to worship with you on Sunday!
