Susan H. Snyder Center for Women and Children
Good morning, CFC family! We are excited to help raise awareness for a Gospel-centered ministry coming to our area soon through the Evansville Rescue Mission. The Evansville Rescue Mission was started back in 1917 by co-founders Dr. Ernest “Pappy” Reveal and his wife, Edna. They had a vision to reach out to the hurting, forgotten, and impoverished in the Tri-State, and it’s a heart of service that ERM still shares today.
As our community’s oldest and largest ministry of its kind, ERM seeks to restore dignity, health, and hope by sharing the love of Jesus Christ with those in need. Through a variety of life-changing programs and services, they reach out to hurting and vulnerable neighbors to help them discover new life in Christ. And now, after more than 107 years, they are stepping out in faith and creating a place of healing, hope, and restoration for both women on their own and women with their children.
The Susan H. Snyder Center for Women and Children (CWC) will be a transformative initiative aimed at providing shelter, support, and empowerment to homeless women and children in our community. The CWC stands as a beacon of hope and compassion, offering a safe haven where individuals and families can find refuge and rebuild their lives. With comprehensive programs and resources tailored to meet their needs, the CWC strives to break the cycle of homelessness and empower individuals to achieve lasting stability and independence.
As members of our church community, you are invited to help support this vital endeavor. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need and demonstrate the love and compassion of Christ in action.
Susan Snyder was a lifelong member of CFC. She came on the very first day in 1974, and she was loved by many. She went to be with the Lord in October of 2021. Her husband and family still attend CFC.
We encourage you to stop by the table in the foyer this Sunday as ERM will be here to raise awareness and inform you on how you can play a crucial role. There are links below if you want to learn more.
We look forward to worshiping with you this Mother’s Day! See you soon!
