Snow Patrol
Be a part of the team that provides a clear and safe entry into our facilities during the winter months.
The Win: CFC patrons will be able to access Sunday worship services more readily and safely.
This is the right role for you if:
Time Commitment: Indeterminate. This ministry is completely weather related. If the weather does require a call-out, usually the areas can be cleared in two to three hours.

Additional Requirements: No additional requirements
This is the right role for you if:
- You are in reasonably good physical condition that will allow you to engage in what can be strenuous physical activity..
- You don’t mind being outside during cold or otherwise inclement weather conditions.
- Your schedule allows you to work on a short-notice, call-out basis on a weekday or Saturday.
- The primary responsibility will be physical labor to shovel snow and ice from around the CFC building.

Bookstore
The CFC Bookstore is similar to a small retail shop within the church where we provide Bibles, books, and a variety of fair-trade gift items.
The Win: We provide others the opportunity to purchase Bible and Bible study materials at a low price. Also, by offering fair-trade gift items that are produced in developing countries, we play a role in providing jobs that pay a fair wage.
This is the right role for you if:
Volunteer Responsibilities:
Time Commitment: 2 shifts each Sunday – 8:45 – 10:30 am and 10:30 am – 12:15 pm. You can work as often as you would like or as little as once every 2 months.
Volunteers Needed: 4
Additional Requirements: There is a medium level of learning the system and becoming familiar with operations in the bookstore. If you have a basic understanding of computers and credit card purchases, this would not be difficult to learn. Also, there will be staff available to provide a tutorial on operations in the bookstore.
This is the right role for you if:
- You are welcoming and have an outgoing personality
- You enjoy meeting people
- Comfortable with computers
Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Running the register– we use the Square platform if anyone is familiar with this POS System.
- Answer any questions that people may have
- Be somewhat familiar with the items in the bookstore

Solid Grounds Coffee Shop
Volunteers supplement the staff on Sunday mornings running the register, making drinks, and being friendly and welcoming to customers.
The Win: Drinks and snacks from Solid Grounds are an important part of Sunday mornings for CFC attendees. A volunteer in Solid Grounds will help to facilitate a pleasant Sunday morning experience for our guests.
This is the right role for you if:
Volunteer Responsibilities
Time Commitment: The Coffee Shop would like to have each volunteer commit to working just one shift, once a month. The shift times are 8:00-9:00 AM, 9:00-10:30 AM and 10:30 AM-Noon. Volunteers can work as much as they desire, but once a month is requested. Volunteers may desire to work more frequently while getting started and learning the roles before tapering off to a sustainable schedule.
Volunteers Needed: 12
Additional Requirements: You must be 18 to use the drink equipment, but mature students might be considered for cash register, cleanup and greeting.
This is the right role for you if:
- You are welcoming and have an outgoing personality
- You enjoy meeting people
- You are willing to learn some simple tasks associated with working in a coffee shop.
- You enjoy being part of a team focused on serving others.
Volunteer Responsibilities
- “No prior experience working in a coffee shop is necessary.” The staff will provide all the necessary training for the volunteers.
- Taking food and coffee orders and operating the register.
- Preparing cold drinks.
- Preparing hot drinks with various pieces of brewing equipment.
- Smiling and being friendly!
