Christ and the Cross

The rainbow is a heavenly sign exclusive to the merciful promise of God not to flood the earth in judgment again. The cross of Christ is a symbol exclusive to the merciful promise of God as well. As God sent judgment through the uniqueness of a global flood, he would crush the penalty of sin by turning His wrath upon Himself, once and for all in the crucifixion of Jesus.
